Danieru Sushi is all about incredible sushi and tight spaces

Danieru Sushi is all about incredible sushi and tight spaces

Danieru, a sushi restaurant by Chelsea Common, is small but serious. You’ll find touches here that you don’t get everywhere else—like grating wasabi tableside to order—and you truly feel taken care of at all times. We’re big fans of the excellent (in taste and value) six-piece salmon and tuna nigiri set, and the crispy tempura-filled, salmon-topped rolls. The generously filled spicy chutoro roll is also a crowd-pleaser, but know that the menu will inevitably make its way back to your table when you realise you absolutely need another round of buttery hotate nigiri. The restriction that comes with dinner here is that it’s impossible to seat more than eight people at a time (unless the weather is good, in which case the terrace is the best place to be). But honestly, this place is better in pairs anyway—more pieces of top-tier sushi for you.

Prawn Tempura Roll

Crispy, light prawn tempura and creamy avocado, wrapped tightly in sesame-flecked rice—this is a simple roll done perfectly.

Not only is the nigiri here excellent, this salmon and akami tuna set is great value and perfect for when you want a light lunch.

Salmon Crunch Roll

The cucumber in this roll gives it a nice crunch, and we’re fans of the spicy mayo drizzled on top. Get this to share.
